It has come to NovaStor's attention that FTP over SSL/TLS (FTPs) and sFTP backups performed within NovaBACKUP software prior to version 16.5 R2 (v16.5.1215) may suffer from an inability to restore files.  Backups executed with an FTP over SSL/TLS (FTPs) and sFTP server set as their destination could be marked as successfully backed up but are unable to be restored

This issue has been fixed in version 16.5 R2 (v16.5.1215), read the release notes here.

The following versions have been identified as being affected by this issue.
  • NovaBACKUP 14.0.x
  • NovaBACKUP 14.1.x
  • NovaBACKUP 14.5.x
  • NovaBACKUP 15.0.x
  • NovaBACKUP 16.0.x
  • NovaBACKUP 16.1.x


Recommended actions

This issue has been fixed in version 16.5 R2 (v16.5.1215), read the release notes here.  If you have an earlier version of NovaBACKUP software please upgrade to 16.5 R2 or newer to fix this or if that is not feasible or you cannot upgrade your version please fall back to standard FTP and not Secure FTP.
