Create a NAS Device for NovaBACKUP

Last Updated: Jul 15, 2015 10:47PM PDT
~On tab "device" create a new "network device":

1. Open tab "Device"

2. Select "Add". In Pull down menu select "network device"

3. Put in UNC path to the directory you want to back up to and all needed credentials. If you do not have an Active Directory, leave the "domain" line blank.

4. This network device is your new backup destination. With this new network device the backup job does not access the UNC path directly. The network device takes care of the authentication against the NAS / network share system. ATTENTION: The user that you use in the network device must exist on the NAS system. If the NAS system offers Active Directory (AD) integration, you may use a user that exists in the AD. In some circumstances the AD authetication my fail. In this case create a local user on the NAS system and use the credentials of this user for the network device.
