Cache migration from FastBIT2 to FastBIT3 failed.

When backing up to an xSP or Remote Work Force server after upgrading the client to 12.5, you may see the following error in the job log if the Cache update is not successful:

--- Errors ---------------------------------------------------------------------
Cache migration from FastBIT2 to FastBIT3 failed.
Error e001000c: The specified device could not be found. - Job processing failure

For the Fast BIT error, you just need to run a manual conversion of the Fast BIT cache:

  • Open the client.
  • Go to the Devices tab
  • Open the properties of the xSP device
  • Click the [Test Connection] button and ensure it can talk to the Storage Server.
  • Go to the Fast BIT tab
  • Click on Upgrade Now to upgrade the cache.

This will take some time to complete, but should resolve that issue.
