Cannot see SQL 2014/2012/2008r2 in NovaBACKUP

SQL 2008r2 or SQL 2012 or SQL 2014 do not appear within the Backup tab of NovaBACKUP Business Essentials.


This is caused because NovaBACKUP's Backup / Copy Engine runs utilizing "Windows Authentication" to access the database(s).  Microsoft changed the default permissions of the NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM user within SQL Server 2012/2014. It's also possible that your DBO has removed this permission within 2008 and would result in the same behavior.


You will need to modify the permissions of the NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM user within the SQL Management Studio or run the Management Server service as a specific Administrator user.  To change the permissions of the SYSTEM user, please see the images below.  Once you have modified the permissions you will need to restart your SQL server.
