The first thing you want to do is change the file extension for your backups. NovaBACKUP version 15.x generates a backup files with a .NBD file extension, whereas NovaBACKUP version 7.x creates a .NB7 file extension. Change the file extension of your backups to .NBD, and then follow the instructions below to import and restore your backups.

How to Import and Restore Old Backup Files
After you have changed the file extension on your backups to .NBD follow the steps below:
- Import Your Backups.
Click on the Restore Tab. Then click on the Import button located at the bottom of the application and select your backup file from your device.
Please note: If you cannot see files for import then you have to set windows to show file extensions for a known file type. Click here for instruction on how to show file extensions. Once this is complete do step 1 again.
- Restart NovaBACKUP.
Once your import is complete you will need to close NovaBACKUP and restart the program.
- Restore Your Backup.
Go to the Restore Tab and select what you would like to restore.
