Recommended actions to avoid issues with NovaBACKUP

Please use the most recent version of NovaBACKUP if possible. It can be downloaded directly from www.novastor.com. Please check the loading screen for the version number and make sure it is the most recent build.

To avoid issues regarding access rights, please check the following topics:
  • After the installation of NovaBACKUP, use the Windows Services (services.msc) to switch the service 'NovaStor NovaBACKUP backup/copy engine' (nsservice.exe) to an administrator account (domain administrator if necessary).
  • Adjust your anti virus software to exclude the folders used by NovaBACKUP, including the installation path, the profile path (.\ProgramData\NovaStor) and your backup destination.
  • Make sure that you have enough room available on the drive which holds the folder for temporary files used by NovaBACKUP. The folder path can be changed through Advanced Options in NovaBACKUP.
