Debugging a failed NovaBACKUP Storage Server installation

This article applies to all NovaBACKUP v12 installers except NovaBACKUP Network and NovaBACKUP DataCenter.

If the installation amends the detailed log that this will create, we will assist in determining the cause of the failure. Send this log to the NovaStor Support Team for review.

Open a DOS Command Window and navigate to the location of the installer.

Run the following command:

"C:\Setup xSP Installer.exe" /ComponentArgs "NovaBACKUP Storage Server":"/C:\"SetupBootStrapperEx.exe ENABLE_DATABASE_VERBOSE_LOGGING=True /l*v c:\setuplog.txt\""

  • Substitute "C:\Setup xSP Installer.exe" for the exectuable file name of the installation application.
  • Substitue "c:\setuplog.txt" for the name you want to give the log file.

Make sure you include the " in the command and this will create a debugging log in the c:\ with the name you specified.
