Evaluation or Trial Alerts (Warnings) in NovaBACKUP Network

By default NovaBackup Network will automatically load the following Agents if

detected on each machine in the Storage Management Domain:

  • Disaster Recovery Agent
  • Microsoft SQL Server Agent
  • Microsoft Exchange Agent
  • Microsoft Data Protection Manager Agent

Initially these Agents are loaded for evaluation purposes, and will be usable
during the first thirty days of use. If at the end of thirty days a valid
license for a given Agent is not installed, that Agent will cease to function.
During the evaluation period, each loaded Agent will produce an Alert showing it
as being under evaluation licensing.
If a given Agent is not actually being used for evaluation- and you wish not to
see these errors; it is possible to prevent the Agent from loading into
NovaBackup Network by following these instructions.

TO PREVENT THE DISASTER RECOVERY AGENT FROM LOADING:
1. Open NovaBackup Network.
2. From the Administration desk bar select Catalog.

3. Expand the Network item (click the "+”).

  • Expand the Computer that the Agent is loaded on (click the "+").
  • Click on System Drivers.

4. In the right pane of this window, right click the Disaster Recovery Agent,
and select Stop.

TO PREVENT THE MICROSOFT SQL AGENT FROM LOADING:
1. Open NovaBackup Network.
2. From the Administration desk bar select Catalog.

3. Expand the Network item (click the "+”).

  • Expand the Computer that the Agent is loaded on (click the "+").
  • Click on System Drivers.

4. In the right pane of this window, right click the Microsoft SQL Agent, and
select Stop.

TO PREVENT THE MICROSOFT EXCHANGE AGENT FROM LOADING:
1. Open NovaBackup Network.
2. From the Administration desk bar select Catalog.

3. Expand the Network item (click the "+”).

  • Expand the Computer that the Agent is loaded on (click the "+").
  • Click on System Drivers.

4. In the right pane of this window, right click the Microsoft Exchange Agent,
and select Stop.

TO PREVENT THE MICROSOFT DATA PROTECTION MANAGER AGENT FROM LOADING:
1. Open NovaBackup Network.
2. From the Administration desk bar select Catalog.

3. Expand the Network item (click the "+”).

  • Expand the Computer that the Agent is loaded on (click the "+").
  • Click on System Drivers.

4. In the right pane of this window, right click the Microsoft Data Protection
Manager Agent and select Stop.
The agent(s) selected should now be disabled and will no longer load into
NovaBackup Network from this point forward.
