How to Configure VMware and Hyper-V to restore successfully (Client Side)The user has to change the location of the Temporary storage to a short folder name on the
Local Hard Drive that has space for System State, Exchange, SQL. The data must be staged to a
temporary location before it gets backed up.The user will start at the home tab in NovaBACKUP Client
and press the settings button which will open the default settings (below).
Once the user chooses default settings the next choice will be the Advanced option screen (below).
The Advance Option choice gives the user the ability to move the temporary folder to the
local drive. Note: The temporary folder must be moved to the local drive, it cannot be
moved to a network drive. Once the user is on the Advance option screen the user will go
to the temporary files directory (below).
The user will press the grey box (above) which will allow the user to browse the temporary
files directory and look for the USB drive that is connected to the VMware plug-in.
The user will make a new folder and give it a name that is searchable for the future (below).
Once the user changes the temporary folder, the user must exit the NovaBACKUP
and restart the NovaBACKUP Service (below).
Once this action is done, the user can open the NovaBACKUP software and should be able
to perform a restore.
Note: If the user has to backup 20GB VMware, on the drive where the user moved the tempory
folder must have at least 20GB of free space or the restore will fail.
