We have seen a number of cases where NovaBACKUP will fail to install and issue the error:
NovaBACKUP Setup Wizard ended prematurely because of an error.
Your system has not been modified. To install this program at a later time, run the Setup Wizard again. Click the finish button to exit the Setup Wizard.
We have identified one potential root cause for this can come from a corrupted or improperly configured Microsoft .NET 3.5 framework. Follow the instructions below to repair Microsoft .NET 3.5:
Run a Command Prompt as Administrator:
Click Start -> All Programs -> Accessories Right Click "Command Prompt" and click "Run as Administrator"
NOTE: The following commands are case sensitive, run each of these lines of commands in succession one after the other, wait for each to complete before proceeding to the next command:
DISM /online /disable-feature /FeatureName:NetFx3
DISM /Online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth
DISM /online /enable-feature /FeatureName:NetFx3
The first and third commands will uninstall / reinstall .NET 3.5 respectively. The second command (DISM /Online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth) will take some time (anywhere from 10-20 minutes, depending on your system and the number of errors found).
Once you have run these commands and successfully reinstalled .NET 3.5, please attempt to install NovaBACKUP again.

Please run the System File Checker with these steps:
1. Click the Start orb and then type cmd in the Search programs and files field.
2. In the results area, right-click cmd.exe, and then click Run as administrator. You will be prompted to type the password for an administrator account. Click Continue if you are the administrator or type the administrator password. Then, click Continue.
At the command prompt, type sfc /scannow, and then press ENTER.
The scan may take some time, so be patient. Windows will repair any corrupted or missing files that it finds

If None of those steps Helped:
Uninstall .NET 3.51
To Uninstall .NET you need to go to Control Panel, go to Programs and select Turn Windows Features on or off and Uncheck Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1
Then Restart Computer
Go Back to Control Panel, go to Programs and select Turn Windows Features on or off and Check Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1, Then Restart Computer
And install NovaBackup
