Client Side Issue:
If a client was previously installed to a different folder then where it is currently being installed, this will sometimes cause a registry error that will prevent the client from being added to the command server. You can correct the registry entry on the local client side by running the following command
C:\Program Files\novastor\DataCenter\Hiback\hiback –create
net start hiserv
This creates the registry entry: Software\Novastor\Hiback\InstallDir=C:\Program Files\novastor\DataCenter\Hiback
From here you can then "Add Node" from the command server and connect to a client.
Backup Server issue:
Another reason why a client can't cannot could be related to the backup server service not installing or starting correctly. On the Backup Server machine you can run the following command to reinstall/create the hiserv service.
C:\Program Files\novastor\DataCenter\Hiback\hiserv c “path to Hiback, eg C:\program files\novastor\datacenter\hiback”
net start hiserv
