Client Update requests an unauthorized reboot during installation
NovaStor DataCenter
The interactive client install process requests a reboot.
You do not need to do this to complete the install process.
The situation arises because at the time of the client update there is still a backup active on the client. It should therefore also be visible in the monitoring.
If updating the client has a higher priority for you than running the backup, you can stop the backup before the update, or the other way round, you can wait with the update until the backup is finished. In particular, when updating to version 7, the entire client should be updated and in case of an update error, the installation should be repeated at a later date.
The restart is not absolutely necessary, because the files displayed in the install log as "locked" are the backup client (Hiback.exe) and the VSS utility (vssdba.exe), and they can (unless the update of this Components is urgently needed) in the "old" version are usually used just as well. At the latest at the next regular reboot the files marked by the Windows file system will be replaced by the new version.
