Open ports needed for NovaStor DataCenter
The Default ports needed for client operation are:
Port 32333 (TCP)
Port 32334 (TCP)
The Default ports needed for Command Server and Backup Server operations are:
Port 32323 (TCP)
and
Port 32333 (TCP)
Port 32334 (TCP)
Port 32335 (TCP)
These ports are preconfigured. When installing the DataCenter components, rules for the DataCenter components are added in the Windows firewall. A third party firewall will NOT be modified! Please check and add rukes for non Windows firewalls (or anti virus software) manually!
The ports can be adjusted during installation. However, NovaStor advises against changing the ports. If a change is absolutely necessary, you can change the base port 32333. The other ports are based on this base port (count 32333 +1). By command
netstat -ano
in an administrative prompt, you can query which ports a system expects requests on. These may look different on a DataCenter command/backup server than on a DataCenter client. netstat also shows process ID (PID). Using this PID you can find out in the Windows Task Manager which process is listening on the respective port.
Example:
By command
netstat -ano | findstr 3233
you can determine which processes (IDs) use these ports. Via Windows Task Manager => tab "Details" you can then find the process belonging to the process ID (PID), e.g:

In this example the Windows Task Manager shows for PID 5580:

for PID 7052:
Image 3: PID rcmd-executor.exe
