NovaBACKUP
- A couple of things:
- Make sure the credentials being used have read/write/modify access to the Network Share. (admin rights)
- Try adding the Network Device in NovaBACKUP using IP address instead of Device Name
- Unmap the share, reboot, and try to add the Network Device in NovaBACKUP
- Make sure to use a user that exists and is configured on the NAS device itself (instead of the domain)
- You can try removing the domain name to make sure it is an account on the NAS device
~On tab "Device" [Add] a "network device":
- Open tab "Device"
- Select "Add". In Pull down menu select "network device"
- Put in UNC path to the directory you want to back up to and all needed credentials.
- If you do not have an Active Directory, leave the "domain" line blank.
- This network device is your new backup destination.
With this new network device the backup job does not access the UNC path directly.
The network device takes care of the authentication against the NAS / network share system.
ATTENTION:
- The user that you use in the network device must exist on the NAS system.
- If the NAS system offers Active Directory (AD) integration, you may use a user that exists in the AD.
- In some circumstances the AD authentication may fail.
- In this case create a local user on the NAS system and use the credentials of this user for the network device.
- In some circumstances you may not be able to use the Device Name and will need to use the IP address to access the device.
- This is usually the case if you have mapped a share on this device, NovaBACKUP cannot use Mapped Drives as it runs at the System level.
- Using the IP address changes the way Windows authenticates the connection and how it stores the information related to that connection.
