How to Prevent NovaBackup From Starting Automatically on Computer:
Note: Scheduled Backups will not run if the NovaBACKUP Backup / Copy Engine is disabled.
Exit any open NovaBACKUP Applications.
In Order to remove NovaBackup Tray Icon from Startup you need to delete shortcut to "NovaBACKUP Tray Control" from Startup Folder. In order to see the Startup Folder, you will need to enable viewing of hidden or system files:
- Double Click On My Computer Icon,
- Click on Organize
- Go to Folder and Search Options
- Go To View
- under Advanced settings Select Show Hidden files, folders or drives
- Click on Apply and OK
- Then you will be able to See that Folder in Windows Explorer
Once you are no longer hiding files - go to the Startup folder and delete the "NovaBACKUP Tray Control" shortcut:
On Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 2008 go to:
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\
On Windows XP and Windows 2003:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\
Once the NovaBACKUP Tray Control has been disabled you will need to disable the NovaBACKUP Backup / Copy Engine, Disaster Recovery Imaging, and Backup Client Agent.
Change NovaBackup Services:
- Select Run on the Windows Start menu.
- Type services.msc and select OK. This should open the Services window.
- Right-click on NovaStor NovaBackup Backup / Copy Engine in the list and select Properties.
- Select Stop.
- Right-click again on NovaStor NovaBackup Backup/Copy Engine and Select Properties
- Change Startup Type to Manual
- Select OK
- Right-click on Disaster Recovery Imaging in the list and select Properties.
- Select Stop.
- Right-click again on Disaster Recovery Imaging and Select Properties
- Change Startup Type to Manual
- Select OK
- Right-click on Backup Client Agent in the list and select Properties.
- Select Stop.
- Right-click again on Backup Client Agent and Select Properties
- Change Startup Type to Manual
- Select OK
Following the next reboot, NovaBACKUP will no longer launch at startup.
