Clean uninstall of Novabackup

This process will completely remove NovaBACKUP from your machine, including any scheduled jobs and references to previous backup files.

This process will not remove your backup files.

To Uninstall NovaBACKUP: 

1. Close the NovaBACKUP software.
2. Press [Ctrl], [SHIFT], and [ESC] keys simultaneously to open the Task Manager window.
   Select More details at the bottom of the window.
   Select Show Processes from all users at the bottom of window.
3. Open the Details/Processes tab
   Verify NovaBackX.exe, nsctrl.exe, nsService.exe and drdiag.exe processes are not active. Select each of them and choose [End Process] or [End Task] if they are still active.
4. Uninstall NovaBACKUP using Programs and Features or Add/Remove Programs.
   • If you are unable to use the Uninstall option through Programs and Features please continue to the steps below.
     
     

This process will remove your backup files.

Delete All traces of NovaBACKUP including:

C:\ProgramData\NovaStor\
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\NovaStor
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\NovaStor_Corporation
C:\Program Files\NovaStor\
C:\Program Files (x86)\NovaStor\

In Order to See all of those folders you need to show hidden Folders:

• Double Click On My Computer/This PC Icon,
• Click on Organize/Tools
• Go to Folder and Search Options
• Go To View
• under Advanced settings Select Show Hidden files, folders and drives
• Click on Apply and OK

You will now be able to See the ProgramData directory in Windows Explorer

Optional: Run RegEdit and delete:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Backup Client Agent Service
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Disaster Recovery Imaging
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Nsservice
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NovaStor
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\NovaStor

Then REBOOT (Required)

To Reinstall NovaBACKUP:

1. Stop Antivirus and Anti Spyware programs.
2. Install NovaBACKUP using Right-click->Run as administrator.
3. Perform a standard Installation using default settings. 
4. Launch NovaBACKUP
