How to Uninstall CMon
It is important to understand that for general issues with CMon, make sure that the installed CMon version is the same or newer than the NovaBACKUP client software that is connecting to it.
NovaStor releases builds for the NovaBACKUP Client and CMon at the same time.
There are various circumstances that can cause instability in the CMon database system, which would cause you to be unable to log into the web interface.
If the issue is not resolved after restarting the Machine running CMon, then CMon will need to be completely uninstalled along with it's database. The database will be rebuilt from the connected machines.
- Open Windows Services (
services.msc
command via Start Menu -> Run or Search entry box).- Locate these two services in the list
Management Server
Management Web Server

- Right click on each of those two services listed above and STOP those two services.
- Locate these two services in the list
- Launch an admin command prompt to remove these services:
sc delete "Management Server"
sc delete "Management Web Server"
- Via Control Panel -> Programs & Features or Add/Remove Programs area:
- Uninstall
Management Server
.
This is the currently installed instance of CMon. - Uninstall
NovaBACKUP Central Management Console
.
This is just the desktop icon for CMon.
- Uninstall
- Delete the entire folder mentioned below to delete all of the CMon settings including the CMon database:
C:\Program Files (x86)\NovaStor\NovaBACKUP Central Management Console\

NOTE: If your operating system is 32-bit Windows then this folder may be named this:C:\Program Files\NovaStor\NovaBACKUP Central Management Console\
.- NOTE: the CMon database will be rebuilt once the clients reconnect
- If you installed CMon using MS SQL you will need to remove this database manually using SQL Server Management Studio or similar.
- Restart the computer that you uninstalled CMon on.
- Re-install CMon after logging back on to restarted machine.

- On the NovaBACKUP Client installations
- From each NovaBACKUP GUI client software go to the Default Settings area and then "Management Server" tab.
- Make sure the information to contact your CMon machine is correct, then click the [Start Service] button to make the connection between the NovaBACKUP client and CMon server machines.
- If this machine was previously configured, you can
- Wait around an hour for the machine(s) to check-in with the new CMon installation themselves
- Restart the Backup Client Agent Service on the client machine(s) to have the client connect to your CMon instance
