Description of the video:
How to manually renew the NovaStor DataCenter 8.x Command Server SSL certificate for Windows. This guide was written specifically for DataCenter 8.2.13 and newer versions, but is applicable to any version of DataCenter 8.x. The difference being that DataCenter 8.0.x versions provide a 90 day SSL certificate validity, 8.1.x versions provide a 1 year SSL certificate validity, and 8.2.13 and newer versions provide a 5 year SSL certificate validity. There will be slight differences in the names and descriptions of the services on the Command Server system as seen in the video. Otherwise these instructions are applicable to all DataCenter 8.x versions. At the mark in the video it covers dealing with the GUI (Java GUI, otherwise known as the DC Management Console) installed on a separate system, separate from the Command Server system, and in that case the GUI is not able to login due to the expired SSL certificate on the Command Server, it verifies the current date and the SSL cert and if it is expired it will not allow login from the GUI app installed on that separate system. In that case the GUI has to be installed over top of the existing, the version of the GUI has to match the Command Server version, and it will prompt to browse to the SSL certificate (.cer file) which is located on the Command Server. After renewing the SSL certificate on the Command Server using the instructions in the video, you would then be required to browse to the new SSL certificate.cer file on the Command Server in C:\Program Files\NovaStor\DataCenter\etc\ folder, it will be the only .cer file there, and copy it to the separate system, and select that file when you are prompted by the GUI installer to select the SSL certificate (.cer) file.
