Change NovaBACKUP Language (all versions)
You can apply (run) 1 of the 3 total attached .REG files, which will change the language setting to either English, German, or Spanish (which can be utilized to automate the client language change as needed, for instance if you are not comfortable with editing the Windows Registry by yourself then you can use this download or define a .reg file method, that is detailed in this KB article):
This is the only thing it will change.
You can open the .REG file with a text editor if you wish to confirm what will be changed (always recommended). After you execute the .reg file you will need to restart the NovaBACKUP client and the nsService.exe (NovaBACKUP Backup/Copy Engine Service) in Windows Services, otherwise the change won't apply to all aspects of the software.
⚠️ WARNING: After changing the NovaBACKUP client language you are required to manually restart the nsService.exe task (that is the Windows service named "NovaBACKUP Backup/Copy Engine Service") and then exit the NovaBACKUP client and run it again, otherwise the language change you just made will not properly apply to all areas of the client software until that is done. You could also restart the computer to accomplish that.
NOTE: See the end of this article for the .reg file attachment.
If you wish to modify your registry manually instead, you can either read this separate KB article for that how-to here, that includes the complete NovaBACKUP client supported languages table of values in it, or you can briefly read this text below (for 3 example client languages only):
Run regedit.exe (Windows Registry Editor) app
Navigate to (or copy and paste in the complete value below including the surrounding brackets, to the address bar of the Registry Editor app, and press the enter key) this registry key below, that will exist as long as the NovaBACKUP client (any version) is installed:[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NovaStor\NovaStor NovaBACKUP]
Right click on the LanguageID DWORD (32-bit) entry in the above registry key and click Modify
Change the Value data to: 409 (Hexadecimal Base)
Start NovaBACKUP client will be in the English language.
Change the Value data to: 407 (Hexadecimal Base)
Start NovaBACKUP client will be in the German language.
Change the Value data to: 40A (Hexadecimal Base)
Start NovaBACKUP client will be in the Spanish language.
Note: We have a separate KB article that has the complete languages table (that has all 12 x client language hexadecimal base values in it, to match each client language), that explains how to perform the client language change completely manually, which is here: https://support.novabackup.com/knowledgebase/supported-novabackup-client-languages-reference-guide-how-to-change-the-client-language-manually-all-versions.
Additional Values:
Note: The 3 x attached "NSLanguageToX.reg" Windows Registry .reg files, which you can download and execute on a system that already has the NovaBACKUP client installed on it to change the current client language, system wide, that affects all users, to either English, German, or Spanish, contains a single HKEY_LOCAL_SYSTEM (system wide) LanguageId registry key in it, with the hexadecimal value set already in each of the 3 x .reg files, per each of those 3 client languages in that case (you can reference the full supported languages table here). Each of the 3 x registry key .reg files, after executing one of them by an administrator user, will apply the change to the system and will affect all users (which requires nsService.exe to be restarted as well as the client GUI app). Keep in mind that re-installing the NovaBACKUP client software, in one of the first dialogs seen prior to choosing Typical or Custom install, will prompt you to choose the program language to set and in that case it will only apply the language to the HKEY_LOCAL_SYSTEM key (system wide). You can utilize the additional values in the chart above to create your own .reg file per language that you need, just by replacing the English 409 hexadecimal value in the .reg to another hexadecimal value from the above chart, and save the file with the name of the language if you want, with the .reg extension. You will 100% need to restart the nsService.exe (NovaBACKUP Backup/Copy Engine Service) in Windows Services after changing the language registry key, otherwise certain aspects of the software will still display in the prior old language, also keep in mind that changing the language like this will not make old logs be displayed in the new language, the old logs when viewed in LogViewer.exe will still be displayed in the language that the registry key was set to at the time that the backup or restore job ran.

Note: After changing the "LanguageId" registry key value, using either the manual edit via the Registry Editor app method to change it, or aif you use the .reg file method, it is 100% required that you restart the "NovaBACKUP Backup/Copy Engine" service ("nsService.exe" is the task name) and the client GUI app ("NovaBackX.exe" is the task name) tasks after that, in order for ALL of the changes to apply, including for the "Status:" line output messages in the "Status" tab to look correct for that different client language. Note: Any prior logs that are viewed via the client GUI ("LogViewer.exe" is the task name) will still content the content from the past client languages setting though. Any new logs that are generated with that new client language setting in place will be displayed in that new client language though.
