With the NovaBACKUP Central Management Console (CMon), you can see the status of all your customers' backup jobs at a glance and drill into every agent, job, and group. You can also set up email notifications that give you a complete overview of your customers' backups.

Can I manage local backups as well as cloud backups?

Yes. NovaBACKUP manages your customers' local and cloud backups in a single solution. From the CMon you can monitor all your customers' backups, create and change backup jobs for any storage, and adjust the backup strategy as needed.

Does the CMon work with NovaBACKUP 22 agents?

Yes. The CMon manages NovaBACKUP 22 agents the same way it manages 21.x agents. Reports, filters, and activity views are unchanged. See Managing NovaBACKUP 22 Agents from the CMon.

How do I upgrade my customers' agents to NovaBACKUP 22?

For agents on 21.3.410 or newer that are connected to the CMon, start the upgrade from the agent's Updates tab in the CMon. For other agents, run a silent installation from your RMM tool. An in-place upgrade keeps every existing backup job running. See Deploying and Upgrading Agents at Scale.

Can I set up full system recovery for my customers from the CMon?

Yes. Create a backup job with Disaster Recovery selected. It backs up the drive Windows runs from, so also select any other drives that hold data. The backups can be stored on local devices or in the cloud. See Backing Up a Computer for Full System Recovery.

How do I reconnect a rebuilt or replaced computer to its cloud backups?

Issue a recovery token for the agent in the CMon and give it to the person at the computer. They redeem it in NovaBACKUP 22 or in the recovery environment to add the cloud device, without needing CMon credentials. See Issuing a Device Recovery Token in the CMon.

What happens to my customers' legacy jobs after the upgrade?

They keep running. Legacy jobs, such as image backup, Copy, and Virtual Dashboard jobs, are managed in the Legacy NovaBACKUP UI on upgraded computers. See Will My Backup Jobs Work in NovaBACKUP 22?

Where is NovaBACKUP Cloud located?

NovaBACKUP Cloud is available in data centers in the United States, Canada, and Germany.

Is data sent to the cloud encrypted?

Yes. NovaBACKUP uses 256-bit AES end-to-end encryption, and each connection between an agent and NovaBACKUP Cloud is encrypted with its own key.

Does NovaBACKUP send only block-level changes?

Yes. NovaBACKUP compares files that were already backed up with the files being backed up and sends only the changed blocks, so less data travels to the backup destination.
